Introduction and Acceptance

These Terms of Service govern your use of the larcarrent.com website and all car hire booking services offered through it in Larnaka, Larnaca, Cyprus. By accessing this website or completing a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms in their entirety.

These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and customers who place a reservation through our platform. If you do not agree with any part of these conditions, you must not use this website or proceed with a booking. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The version published on this page at the time of your booking applies to that reservation.

Our service connects customers with local vehicle hire partners operating in and around the Larnaka district, including collections at Larnaka International Airport (LCA), Finikoudes seafront, and hotel delivery points across the Larnaca region. These terms govern your relationship with our platform as well as the general obligations you accept toward the supplying hire partner.

Eligibility Requirements for Car Hire in Larnaka

To rent a vehicle through our platform, you must meet the following eligibility criteria at the time of pickup.

Minimum Age

The minimum age to hire a standard vehicle is 21 years. Drivers aged 21 to 24 may be subject to a young driver surcharge applied by the local hire partner. Premium, luxury, and large-capacity vehicles such as SUVs and 7-seater minivans typically require the main driver to be at least 25 years of age. Age requirements will be clearly displayed on the booking summary before you confirm your reservation.

Driving Licence

A full, valid driving licence held for a minimum of one year is required. European Union driving licences are accepted across Cyprus without restriction. If your licence was issued outside the EU, you are strongly advised to carry an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your national licence. Licences written in non-Latin script must be accompanied by an official translation or IDP. Digital licence formats are not accepted at pickup - a physical licence document is required.

Additional Drivers

Any additional driver must be present at the time of vehicle collection and must present their own valid driving licence meeting the same eligibility criteria. An additional driver fee may apply and will be stated clearly during the booking process.

Bookings, Reservations, and Cancellation Policy

All reservations made through larcarrent.com are subject to vehicle availability at the selected location and pickup time. Completing the online booking form and receiving a confirmation email constitutes a binding reservation.

Free Cancellation

Most vehicles listed on our platform are available with free cancellation provided the cancellation is submitted no fewer than 24 to 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time. The specific cancellation window applicable to your booking will be displayed on the vehicle listing and confirmed in your booking summary. Cancellations submitted within the restricted window may incur a fee equivalent to one day's rental charge.

No-Show Policy

Failure to collect the vehicle at the reserved time and location without prior cancellation notification constitutes a no-show. In the event of a no-show, the booking may be treated as cancelled outside the free cancellation period and a charge may apply. If your flight to Larnaka is delayed, please contact us as early as possible so we can attempt to hold your vehicle.

Modifications

Requests to modify booking dates, vehicle category, or pickup location are subject to availability and may affect the original pricing. Please contact us at [email protected] to request any amendments to a confirmed reservation.

Pricing, Payment, and What Is Included

All prices displayed on larcarrent.com are quoted in Euros (EUR) unless stated otherwise. Prices are inclusive of local taxes and standard mandatory inclusions as described at the time of booking.

What Is Included in the Hire Rate

The standard hire rate includes: third-party liability insurance as required by Cyprus law, unlimited mileage on the majority of vehicles, and 24-hour roadside assistance within the Republic of Cyprus. Specific inclusions vary by vehicle and will be itemised on the booking confirmation.

Optional Extras

The following extras may be added to your booking at additional cost: GPS satellite navigation unit, child seats and infant carriers, booster seats, additional driver registration, and portable Wi-Fi device. Prices for optional extras are displayed during the booking process. Child seat availability should be confirmed in advance if travelling with young children.

Fuel Policy

Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than at the time of collection, the cost of refuelling plus an applicable service fee will be deducted from any payment instrument held, or invoiced separately.

No Deposit and Payment Method

Our core commitment is that car hire through this platform requires no deposit and no credit card at the time of online booking. Customers may complete their reservation using a debit card or other accepted payment methods. At the time of vehicle collection, the local hire partner may require a standard payment instrument for incidentals as per their own rental agreement, which will be disclosed at booking stage.

Vehicle Use Rules and Prohibited Activities

All vehicles hired through our platform must be used in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus and the following conditions. Breach of these rules may result in the immediate termination of the rental, additional charges, and the voiding of any insurance cover in place.

Permitted Use

Vehicles may be used only on public roads in the Republic of Cyprus that are legally accessible to standard passenger vehicles. Driving on unpaved tracks, forest roads, mountain trails, or beaches is not permitted unless the vehicle is specifically categorised as an approved off-road model and such use is expressly authorised in the hire partner's own rental documentation.

Prohibited Activities

The following are strictly prohibited and constitute a material breach of these terms:

• Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other substance that impairs driving ability
• Use of the vehicle for racing, speed tests, or any organised competitive event
• Subletting, re-hiring, or transferring use of the vehicle to any person not registered as an authorised driver
• Using the vehicle to transport goods or passengers for commercial reward without prior written agreement
• Crossing international borders without the express written consent of the hire partner
• Towing any trailer, caravan, or other vehicle unless specific towing approval is noted on the rental agreement
• Smoking inside the vehicle

Violations may result in the customer being held fully liable for any damage, fines, or third-party claims arising from the prohibited use, regardless of insurance status.

Insurance, Collision Damage Waiver, and Liability

All vehicles supplied through our platform include basic third-party liability insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of Cyprus law. This coverage protects against claims from third parties injured or whose property is damaged as a result of an incident involving the hired vehicle.

Collision Damage Waiver

A standard Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is included in most hire rates. CDW limits your financial liability for damage to the hired vehicle itself to a defined excess amount, which will be stated clearly on your booking confirmation. The excess amount varies by vehicle category and typically ranges from EUR 500 to EUR 2,000.

Optional Full Coverage

Customers wishing to reduce their excess to zero may select a full coverage or super CDW option at the time of booking. This optional upgrade is displayed during the booking flow and eliminates the excess in most damage scenarios, subject to exclusions outlined in the hire partner's rental agreement.

Insurance Exclusions

Insurance cover is void and the hirer will be held fully liable in circumstances including: damage occurring while the vehicle is being driven by an unauthorised driver, damage resulting from any prohibited activity listed above, damage to tyres, wheels, and underbody caused by negligent driving on unsuitable terrain, and theft of the vehicle where the keys were left in the vehicle or appropriate security precautions were not taken.

Limitation of Liability

larcarrent.com operates as an intermediary platform connecting customers with independent local vehicle hire partners in the Larnaka area. We are not the vehicle owner, insurer, or direct hire operator. While we take reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy of vehicle listings, pricing, and availability, we cannot guarantee that all information provided by hire partners is complete or error-free at all times.

Our total liability to you in connection with any booking made through this platform shall not exceed the total value of the hire charges paid through us for the booking in question. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses including but not limited to missed flights, loss of enjoyment, accommodation costs, or business losses arising from any issue with the hired vehicle or booking process.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the law of the Republic of Cyprus.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms or any booking made through our platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Larnaka, Cyprus, unless applicable consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

If you are a consumer resident within the European Union, you may also have rights under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence, and you may refer disputes to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
